Stop Suffering from Downtime During Costly Repairs
When light curtains and other types of safety equipment break down, your operation grinds to a halt. These machines keep your team safe, and when they need to be repaired or replaced, you lose revenue, miss shipments, and squander potential business opportunities.
OTC’s automation team has a proven record of helping our clients find solutions for outdated and out-of-order equipment. When clients face issues with their essential parts and equipment, they turn to us. When one of our customers struggled with downtime and safety issues due to out-of-stock replacement sensors, the OTC team got to work.
Trust OTC to Keep Your Business Moving
When our customer encountered problems with its light curtains, we began by thoroughly inspecting the equipment to determine if replacing the broken parts was a viable solution. After our investigation, we provided recommendations on whether it would be more economical for OTC to retrofit parts specific to their equipment or opt for a new model. In this case, the client agreed with our recommendation to update the light curtains with a newer Keyence model.
With the new light curtains, there would be significantly fewer maintenance issues or reasons to frequently replace parts on the automated system. After reviewing the upgrade and benefits, the client asked the OTC team to manage the installation of the new light curtains.

An 18-machine changeout was scheduled for the customer's line to be down for 5 days. Due to efficient work and strong preparation, we reduced that to two days.
The Results Speak for Themselves
The OTC automation team worked closely with the manufacturer's team at the site to safely remove the old curtains and install the new ones. The goal was to minimize disruption at the site and ensure the new curtains would be a reliable solution to the frequent downtime.
The installation was a tremendous success. “The install process was seamless and allowed production to start up earlier than expected to meet supply demands." - stated the manufacturing customer.
Due to OTC’s competitive prices and efficient work, the general industrial manufacturer has turned to the team for additional work at the site.
